Gayle Farris serves as the Harvard University real estate advisor working with the Executive Vice President and her senior team. Together they are developing a long-term real estate strategy, and implementing Allston placemaking and neighborhood revitalization.

Harvard is committed to having its academic facilities and properties in Allston be a seamless part of and anchor for the neighborhood. These include the Business School campus, the Athletic Facilities, a portfolio of existing commercial and residential properties and some 200 acres of former industrial land and rail yards.

The focus of the GB Farris advisory role is to help Harvard identify best practices, the right partners and create an implementation plan for developing a vibrant, diverse and culturally-rich welcoming neighborhood including:

  • A wide range of new housing at all price points
  • Retail shops and restaurants
  • Parks and cultural spaces
  • R&D, lab, research, office, co-working and maker spaces for entrepreneurial companies
  • Fostering tech transfer and job creation
